That's the scenario that greeted me when I checked into Urbnsurf with a bunch of old high school mates at noon yesterday.

Urbnsurf is like a dream that you get to walk into fully awake. Check in, get the low-down and safety brief and then you're set to choose your adventure. The waves are generated by a central hydraulic system that can delivery everything from mellow peelers on the longboard setting to a thick-lipped barrel section in Beast mode.

From the moment you first hit the freshwater of the lagoon you know something's different. However, that feeling is quickly replaced by familiarity and intuition the moment you drop into the first wave. The whole experience feels like a contradiction; unfamiliar weighted against familiar, variation disguised in repetition, man-made parodying nature and dream verses reality.
