Silver Linings

Arch

Feels like winter's come back to haunt us. While temperatures have been cool enough to roll out the puffer jacket for one more lap of the beach, one of the silver linings has been an abundance of lively swell from the south and offshore winds. The south direction might not be ideal, but it's definitely added some much needed energy onto the sandbanks and gutters along our stretch of beach.

The other bonus from this southern energy is that the water colour has changed back from green to blue. Gone is the green nutrient-rich, cold water from recent upwellings; duck-diving through the waves this morning was reminiscent of a tropical island in the South Pacific.

Heads up about an event that Bennett Surf are presenting next month at the newly opened Brooky Surf Club. Surf Hops & History promises to be 3 Days of surf history, celebrations and surfboards down at the old Bennett factory. Info & Tickets available here
