Local Tully White

The sun's out and it's a sensational day for day one of the waiting period of the Sydney Surf Pro, feels like our brief summer is revisiting. The first stop of the World Longboard Tour got underway in small, fun little log waves out front of the North Steyne Surf Club. There might be a lack of swell on the ocean but the North Steyne bank is serving some some perfect little runners and these surfers make anything look good!

Local surfer Tully White had a solid first heat this morning and will advance straight through to Round Four. In the men, Declan Wyton will be flying the flag for the locals in Heat 6 of Round Two this afternoon.

Unfortunately the longboard heats will not be webcast today so the only way to watch is to get down on the sand.  Should be a nice afternoon small waves and hopefully a little push in size as the tide starts to fill in again.

As for the shortboard side of the event it's not looking great for a start tomorrow with a dip in swell size and very light offshore winds the next couple of days. Maybe they'll run; maybe they'll use the lay days they have up their sleeve. Tune in tomorrow to see.
