Drab

Never a great sign (if you’re a surfer)

Bit of a damp, drab start to the week so far and it looks as though there's more rain to come. Kind of ironic that this weather has set in on the week we get to stroll on in to our favourite cafe or pub, pull up a chair and hang a while. Especially after the run of warm, sunny days we've had lately. It’s homely weather on opening week… ah well, I guess it's a good chance for us to ease ourselves back into it and feel out our favourite spaces again.

Seeing a kiteboarder setting up on the sand at 8am is never a great sign for surfers but that was my first view of the beach this morning. The wind's onshore and the waves are small and chopped up; there was probably less than a dozen surfers the whole stretch of sand. Like surfing solo? Today's your day.

Maybe catch you tomorrow... maybe not.
