Brief Swim
I went for a swim this morning. The loose plan was to sit in the rip off the left and shoot the local's getting barrelled. That bank seemed like the pick of the bunch yesterday and I figured it'd be a little more user-friendly today. Unfortunately the rip had other ideas and after the first decent set I'd been pulled out of position and was copping whatever sets rolled in north of the pipe on the head. Eventually my ticket to the beach arrived in the form of a six footer...
The swell's dropped a touch overnight but there's still 6 footers rolling in from the south-east. Conditions were offshore this morning and the waves were pretty much firing once again.
The longboarders were first up this morning for the Manly Surf Festival, it would have been challenging to surf a 9footer out there I reckon. Congrat's to Tully White and George Noonan for taking the wins and a special mention to Declan who scored a 9.5 in his first heat with a backside tube and the longest ride of the event.
