Cookin'!
Wowzers! I haven't seen the Manly stretch looking so good in a south swell for a long time. Maybe it's the recent shift in sand from the lagoon; maybe it's the filtered south-east swell direction wrapping around North Head. Whatever it is, it's working! Manly's cooking!
We've got a clean 4-6ft of SE swell, offshore winds and sunshine. Harro couldn't have asked for better conditions for Day 1 of the Manly Surf Festival. Heaps of local surfers featured in the opening heats and it'll be interesting to see who's triumphant in the end. QBC, North Steyne, Freshie?
The festival is a celebration of surfing to mark 60 years since Midget Farrelly & Phyllis O’’Donnell won the first World Surfing Titles at Manly Beach. There's a rich history of surfing that's taken place on our local sands and it's worth celebrating. Well done to Steve 'Harro' Harrison for putting it together, hopefully it'll grow into the future!
