Red Sky

Shepherds Warning

Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning... and this morning was a real burner! There's a change coming and we're going to start feel it sometime in the early afternoon today when the wind's swings southerly and the clouds move on in. There might even be a shower or two this afternoon before the real rain is sweeps in early next week...

But for now, let's enjoy what we've got; sunshine, offshore wind and a decent little long-period south swell on the Tasman. It's a long time between sets but when they come any south facing beach is going to be well overhead.

Remember pro surfing? Well, it's back and it's kicking off in Hawaii right now. After a quiet year thanks to COVID, the WSL is back with all sorts of changes in scheduling and format. Europe is out, Steamer Lane is back and there's going to be a surf-off at Trestles for the World Title between to the top five contenders at the end of the season. We're going to have to get used to all sorts of 'new-normals in 2021' embrace the change!  The ladies are currently on standby in Maui to run the finals (it's been on hold since a shark encounter close by) and it's day#1 in the mens event at the Pipeline. Tune In Here
