Sabbatical

Slab!

Monday morning's can fall into two categories; the ones where you hit snooze, roll over and crawl feebly into the week, or those where you bounce out of bed rubbing your hand together ready to get stuck into the week ahead.

Despite the grey clouds and northerlies, I'm amped for the week ahead. Today's the first day of a month long sabbatical. Yep, I'm taking a step sideways for the month of August to get a fresh set of eye, reexamine the known and dabble in the unknown. I'll still be around with camera in hand; might even make the odd post here or there if we get a cracker sunrise or another round of amazing waves. I'll be on email, my phone will be on and of course print sales will go on. Feel free to get in touch with questions, ideas or suggestions.

Today's post is from the evening of the Tuesday just gone. The waves were as good as I've seen at Manly in a long time with proper kegs dotting the line up everywhere from Queenscliff to South Steyne. I only caught the last hour of light but gee, what an hour it was! The photo's speak for themselves and I'm not sure I was even there for the best of it.

The week ahead isn't looking amazing for waves; it'll be 1ft of NE wind swell until Thursday/Friday when it bumps up to 2-3ft. We'll have some clouds and some sunshine; it'll be surfable. The second event in the WSL World Longboard Tour will begin at the US Open in Huntington CA in a couple of days. Tune in and watch Manly locals Declan Wyton and Tully White fly the flag for Australia.

Ok, I'm signing off. Have a good week and feel free to get in touch! See you out there.
