:: West Coast

This morning's post comes to you from the wild West Coast of New Zealand's North Island. This coastline gets hammered by a fairly constant train of West swells as the low pressure systems of the Roaring Forties push up under the Australian landmass.  The town of Raglan sits at the entrance to a harbour behind a notch here on the West Coast. It's that notch that creates the consecutive lefthand point breaks that Raglan is renown. This morning's there's no shortage of swell, it's just a touch wind-affected unsettled. Still, there's plenty of leg-burning fun to be had if you can handle the bumps.

Looks like Manly turned it on for the last couple of days at the Australian Open of Surfing.  The weather might have been average but from the couple of photo's I've seen floating around on social media the waves looked really nice.  Congrat's to Jesse Mendes and Malia Manuel for taking out the titles! Now the 5 million dollar question is, will the be Aust Open be back at Manly in 2018?
