What an odd morning down the beach this morning.  The pre-dawn light was amazing as sun cast it's glow from below the horizon upon some beautiful textured clouds.  It's been a few months since we've had a sunrise like with that much colour.    Then all of a sudden it got dull like it was going to rain but changed again almost as quickly as the the sun started poking through little windows in the clouds before fully emerging into a bright sunny morning.  It was quite the journey for all involved. The surf undertook a similar transition going from onshore summer-like slop to groomed loggable peelers.  It kind of felt a bit like a summer's morning with steamers.  Ah, it's all a bit odd really.  There's 1-2ft of NE wind swell and fairly light winds here in Manly.  If you've got the day off it could be worth a paddle but if you're at work you're not missing much at all.
