:: Strong Onshore

The wind has been blowing at 20 knots from the ESE since 5:30 this morning.  Needless to say the waves are a mess and even the far Southern corner is pretty wind affected.  There's plenty of push to the short period East swell and if you could find a decent one between the chop there was the odd runner through to the beach at South Steyne.   Australian Open wildcard surf-off contestant Ben Hamilton was putting in the hard yards and making the most of the conditions as was Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott.

Closer to shore there were plenty of people enjoying the warm start to the day and taking a dip to kick start the week.  If you're not into wind and wildness, that's probably your best bet.

We were super stoked to see Sprout Daily feature in a Journal Entry on The Surfer's Journal website over the weekend courtesy of David Maurice Smith's Morning Light photo essay.  If you haven't seen it yet, click through to check it out.  It's nice to get recognition across the world but especially great from surfing's premium publication.  Stoked!

Enjoy Monday.
