Steady Now

Ok, it's no secret that there's a swell on it's way.  Social media and forecasting sites have been lighting up with talk of this swell event with emails flying all around the place since last weekend.  Steady now; it's still coming.  The swell has more than a touch of South in it and this stiff Westerly is doing it's best to deflect it off our stretch of sand.  Take a drive to an extreme South facing beach and see what's doing there.  The swell is due to build throughout the afternoon and the wind will easy late in the afternoon.  There's plenty still to come through Friday, the weekend and beyond so check Coastalwatch's East Coast Swell Alert for the details. This morning Queensie had a very small 1-2ft of swell which seemed to dissolve as soon as the tide past the 6:39am low-tide.  Good day for waxing up the heavy log and getting some momentum to run against the 30 knot offshore.
