The biggest April Fools of yesterday seems like it's no joke.  Everyone's waking up this morning to the news that 11 x World Champion Kelly Slater has parted ways with Quiksilver after 20+ years. Whether the timing was coincidental or not it's got everybody talking.  Kind of shocked me to begin with but once you digest Slater's letter you realise it's typical of a man on a quest to define and redefine his life and the world around him.  Looking forward to the fruits. Slater's in WA right now for the Margaret River Pro which is kicking off today - first comp without a red sticker since Trestles in 1990?

In Manly the day started off much the same as yesterday.  Waves are clean and small, water's sensational and the sun is warm.
