:: Late Sess

Yesterday afternoon the swell jacked up to a meaty 4ft+ from the South East and with the tide dropping out the late session was good viewing.  Queensie had a shapely but wind affected peak in the corner and the sandbank at North Steyne turned a few set inside out.  There were a few heavy ones breaking on the contest bank that were as wide as there were high. With so much talent around at the moment it was good to see a few locals guys pushing hard and standing out.  Ben Penny almost stood out as much as his bright orange wetty top - you could surf all night in that thing!  Ben will join Jamie Krups in the Junior Mens when the Australian Open of Surfing kicks off tomorrow.  Let's hope the swell sticks around - good luck to the local crew!
