:: Going Up

If you've been down on the beachfront in the last couple of days, you wouldn't have missed the fact that the Australian Open of Surfing is coming to town. Banners are up, construction on the grandstand and skate bowl has started and there's an hustle on as they race to get everything in place before the event kicks of 8 Feb. It's going to be huge! The banks out front of the contest site have heaps of sand so fingers crossed we get some swell and the right wind so the likes of John John and Julian Wilson can let loose. Swell's hanging in there from the North-East and the wind is a little lighter this morning; feels like been it's getting lighter all morning. I checked it an hour a ago and it had cleaned up from sunrise and was worth a paddle. I'm out.
