Nice to be back in the water at home this morning. The first thing I noticed was how early the sun is rising and how much further north it is compared to a month ago; it's Spring for real! You can be in the water at 5am no problems right now. New Zealand is two hours in front of Sydney time so it's in my favour and I'm up at 5am with no alarms. At first light this morning there was hardly a breath of swell; I had to ride up to Raglan Street to find anyone surfing. Once the tide dropped enough the banks further North came to life and by the time I rode home to Queenscliff there were some really good looking waves peeling down some great shaped banks. Might have to try and sleep-in and catch the lower tide tomorrow.
