Dark clouds, rain and a building South swell made for a typical Winter's start to the day this morning.  The swell's up only slightly on yesterday but there's more energy pushing through and you get the feeling it'll be packing a bit more punch later in the day.  The wind's going to blow strong (30-40km/hour) from the South so you'll need to hide down in the Southern corners out of the wind if you're looking for a wave this afternoon. Tomorrow is International Surfing Day.  It's an initiative mainly centred around the Northern hemisphere branches of Surfrider Foundation however our local branch is throwing a bash to celebrate at Deck Bar in Dee Why.  Click through for the details and get involved!
