Big Apple | Mini City

It's a layday at the Quiksilver Pro New York today with really small onshore waves on offer.  The word on the street is that Thursday and Friday over here are looking really good right now with Hurricane Katia sitting out in the Atlantic spinning waves right into the contest zone.  Talk is of waves in the 4-8ft range so keep your eyes on the webcast. I took the chance to cruise the streets of Manhattan yesterday with my tilt-shift lens.  The tilt-shift lens has the ability to tilt and shift the lens parallel and relative to the image plane.  Used mostly to straighten perspective mainly in architectural photography, a tilt-shift can also be used to give the impression of miniaturizing a scene.  If you havent seen tilt-shift in action, check out the work of Sydney photographer Keith Loutit.  He is a master of the tilt-shift time-lapse mini film and his Small Worlds Project is simply stunning.

Looking at the charts I'm guessing there's a couple of 2 foot longboard-able peelers in Manly.  You guys getting some? Hope so!
