Katy and Cuba of Desire Books in Manly have teamed up with John Colet School teacher Sarah Kearney and others to launch a creative centre in Manly where local artists, poets, musician, scientists and makers can team up with teachers and share their skills and passions with community kids.  The idea, called A Hundred Monkeys, is a finalist in The Manly Daily's Project Local Grant Program. "We believe that by breathing life into a child's ability to think creatively - and by giving them the tools to realise their unique vision - we will have a profound, far-reaching effect on their capacity to not only adjust to the world they find themselves in, but to envision themselves as co-creators of the world they would like to see" says project coordinator Katy Plummer.

To realise the potential of this wonderful idea the group would really like to start by winning a grant in the Project Local scheme.  Help them out by clicking here and voting!  For more information please contact Katy Plummer.
